PPF protects against physical damage such as stone chips, scratches and road debris, while ceramic coating provides some protection against minor scratches, chemical/environmental protection and makes the vehicle easier to clean.

A good answer is that they can actually work together: PPF can protect the high-impact areas while ceramic coating can be applied to the remaining paint and other suitable surfaces.
Like a full frontal in PPF and then the rest of the vehicle gets a Ceramic Coating installed

* What shampoo should I use? Products designed to work hand in hand with the specific product as advised by the installer
* How often should I wash it? ⁠When it gets dirty, do not let bug splatter sit on exposed paint work or even with protection installed they can etch into a surface over time if left on for too long
* Can I polish the car? No not necessary
* Can I use a pressure washer? ⁠Yes you can but be careful not to spray high pressure into a corner it can lift the PPF edge but if that happens contact your installer, it can be fixed.

Ceramic coatings don’t hide paint imperfections—they can actually make them more noticeable. Proper preparation and paint correction can dramatically improve the final result. You need to get the vehicle on a level where you need it to be before coatings are applied.

Depening on how severe the scratches are. We use paint depth gauges that tells us how much paint we have to work with
A car in general has on average 120microns of paint from steel or aluminium surface to the top of the clear coat.
We only take off on average 2-5 microns to get the paint looking perfect. Rare cases needs more correcting.
